"I got this wonderful testimonial from Sheer Beauty J and I was just brought to tears with her amazing transformation. I hope you are feeling as inspired by her as I am!"
As a woman, I've always felt the pressure to look a certain way. Society has its own idea of what women should look like, and it's hard not to internalize those messages. I've struggled with weight and body image issues since I was a child, and it's always been a source of anxiety and stress for me.
But in the last few months of 2021, I finally started to feel comfortable in my body. I had worked hard to get to a healthy weight and be more healthy overall, and it was paying off. I was finally starting to love my body.
Then, in early 2022, everything changed. The day after my daughter turned 18, I found out I was almost 6 weeks pregnant. Four days later, I had a miscarriage. It was a devastating experience, and it brought up so many unexpected emotions. I turned to poor coping skills like overeating and drinking too much wine, and as a result, I gained 40 pounds.
I was back to hating my body again, and I felt like I would never be comfortable in my own skin. But then I stumbled across a Facebook post for a boudoir session. I had been a member of the group for a while, but I never thought I would be brave enough to do something like that.
But I decided to take the plunge. I booked the session, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself. It was a way for me to take a first step towards loving and appreciating my body again.
The experience was amazing. Lacey, the photographer, was incredibly kind, professional, and encouraging. She made me feel comfortable and empowered throughout the whole process. Even when I felt awkward or self-conscious, she coached me through it in a way that made me feel like I could do anything.
The dogs were a bonus too! They made me feel at home and at ease, which was especially important given how nervous I was about the shoot.
Before the session, I would rate my body image as a 4 out of 10. But after the session, it was an 8.5! I felt beautiful and confident, imperfections and all. It was a powerful reminder that I can look and feel beautiful no matter what.
If you're considering a boudoir session, my advice is simple: do it. It's an empowering experience that every woman deserves to have. We need more things that make us feel confident and empowered in our bodies, and a boudoir session is one way to do that.
And if you're worried about feeling self-conscious or awkward, don't be. Lacey was amazing, and I know that any photographer who specializes in boudoir would be just as wonderful. They're there to make you feel amazing about yourself, imperfections and all.
I loved the idea of having more "mini packages" or similar options available, as it would make the experience more accessible to more women. And I appreciated that the whole experience felt like a class, not just a photo shoot. It made me feel like I was part of something special.
So if you're thinking about booking a boudoir session, do it. You won't regret it. And if you have any doubts or concerns, just remember: you are beautiful, you are worthy, and you deserve to feel confident and empowered in your body.
